Elaine Wynn

Dubbed “Queen of Las Vegas” for understated but hands-on role in co-founding Wynn Resorts with ex-husband Steve, Elaine Wynn was stripped of her board seat in April. She made a highly public case to stay on the board – pointing out that her leaving would make the board only have white male voices – but she was still voted down. At issue is the fact that she wants to sell part of her 9 percent stake in the company but, due to the divorce settlement, she can’t without her ex-husband’s approval. Since 2012, she has been suing him for the right to sell her shares at will. Wynn Resorts recently said the lawsuit shows the Elaine’s interests aren’t in line with the company’s.
