Australian online fantasy betting company TopBetta has struck a new advertising deal with Fairfax Media, giving them new reach to over 3.4 million readers, local media reports.
TopBetta will be promoting its fantasy sports across 140 websites in Fairfax’s Australian Media Network, which reach out to around 3.4 million readers.
The Fairfax competition will be launched in March to coincide with the start of the NRL and AFL season.
Players will pick the ultimate fantasy team in a bid to win a combined prize pool of $1 million across selected sports tournaments as part of the deal with Fairfax.
According to TopBetta chief executive Todd Buckingham, the fantasy betting concept has already been a hit with the local market, and currently boasts around 2800 active users. With the new advertising agreement with Fairfax, TopBetta hopes to increase this to 10,000 active users.
Buckingham is also reportedly in talks with Seven West Media over a potential broadcast tie-up.
