Summit Ascent Russian casino to open this year, but VIPs to wait

Summit Ascent’s Russian casino, close to the eastern city of Vladivostok, will open this year, but VIP rooms designed to attract Chinese high rollers won’t be available until the second quarter of next year, local media reports said.
Initially, the casino is expected to attract mostly Russian gamblers.
Summit Ascent said in a stock exchange filing Tuesday that it has completed the acquisition of an additional stake in Oriental Regent, the company building the resort, to 60 percent.
Oriental Regent also said it will need an additional $137.7 million to fund the project with Summit Ascent paying $82.6 million, which it said will come from internal resources.
