Success Universe in talks to sell casino cruise ship stake

Success Universe said it’s in talks to sell a 55 percent stake in casino cruise ship M.V. Macau Success. However, it said no formal or binding accord has been reached and didn’t name the potential buyer.
In a Hong Kong Stock Exchange filing, it also said it knew of no reason for the recent volatility in its share price and that it’s not in any other discussions on acquisitions or asset sales at this time.
The shares closed down more than 4 percent in Hong Kong trading on Thursday at $0.34 and have moved in a 52-week range of $0.16 – $0.65.
The cruise ship has more than 200 passenger rooms and can accommodate over 660 passengers. It operates on a daily basis from Hong Kong to international waters.
Gambling is illegal in Hong Kong apart from through the Hong Kong Jockey Club, but cruise ships are able to offer casino-style gaming once they are out of territorial waters.
Success Universe also provides a technology service platform and technical support to China’s sports lottery market and operates Ponte 16, a casino-entertainment resort located in the Inner Harbour of Macau.
