Sri Lanka signs deal for third casino resort in Colombo

Sri Lanka has reached an accord with local casino operator Dhammika Perera for a $350 mln integrated resort on 2.5 acres of land in Colombo’s new entertainment zone, local media said, citing Investment Promotions Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena.

The resort project, which Perera has dubbed Queensbury, would involve 80% foreign investment, the minister said, giving no details. Meanwhile, government has failed to reach an accord over tax concessions for Melco Resort’s planned Colombo casino project, with approval to be delayed until next year.
