Sky Racing World, a Louisville, Kentucky-based subsidiary of leading Australian wagering operator Tabcorp, has announced a partnership with Hipodromo Argentino de Palermo, a horse-racing track in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Sky Racing World will provide exclusive simulcasting of all races taking place at the Argentinian track to advance deposit wagering (ADW) brands, racetracks and off-track betting outlets (OTBs) in the US, Canada, the Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
Following its partnership with Codere in December 2015 to provide live video-streaming on Australian, New Zealand and South African races to the operator’s Brazil-facing ADW Suaposta and various Brazilian tracks, Sky Racing World’s new distribution deal with Hipodromo Argentino de Palermo will see the company expand its South American presence and enter the Argentinian market. Buenos Aires’ oldest and most prestigious horse-racing venue, Palermo hosts more than 120 thoroughbred and flat-racing events annually and features a 2,400-meter all-weather racetrack.
All the races taking place at the Palermo track, including the upcoming Gran Premio Republica Argentina event in May, the Gran Premio Pollo de Portillos y Potrancas race in September and the Gran Premio Nacional in November, will be exclusively distributed by Sky Racing World for simulcast wagering to its partners in major international markets. The global wagering pools will be hosted by Premier Gateway International (PGI), based on the Isle of Man. PGI is a joint venture between Tabcorp and Phumelela.
In the US, Canada and the Caribbean, Sky Racing World will be distributing Palermo racing content to major ADWs focusing on the market. Distribution will also cover North American racetracks and OTBs.
In addition, Sky Racing World will be providing racing content from the Palermo track for simulcast horse-wagering to markets in the Southern Hemisphere. For the Australian market, Palermo races will be distributed to Sky Racing World’s parent company Tabcorp, and live broadcasting and video-streaming of these events will be broadcast via the operator’s broadcaster Sky Racing. Sky Racing will also distribute Palermo racing content to the New Zealand market through the company’s partnership with the New Zealand Racing Board.
Sky Racing World will begin distributing racing content from the Palermo track to the Southern Hemisphere and North American markets in April 2016. The company is scheduled to announce additional international partnerships later in H1 2016.
“The races at the Palermo track in Buenos Aires are among the highest quality in all of South America, a region where horse-racing is growing in popularity,” said David Haslett, president and CEO of Sky Racing World. “We’re excited to partner with Palermo to bring these top-tier races to our core market of North America, whose time zones complement the Buenos Aires racing schedule, as well as the core Australasian markets of our parent company Tabcorp.”
