Singapore visitor arrivals gain, business spending drops in 2013

    International visitor arrivals to Singapore are expected to have risen by 7.2 percent last year to 15.5 million, according to preliminary figures from the Singapore Tourism Board. The majority of visitors were from Indonesia, 

    though the biggest growth came from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Leisure visitors rose 12 percent in the January to September period, while business travel rose 6 percent. Tourist spending overall is expected to have increased to S$23.6 billion, up by S$0.4 billion in 2012, though business travellers spent 6 percent less.
