Singapore authorities bust illegal gambling den

    Singapore authorities have arrested six people in connection with an illegal gambling den.
    Police seized 19 modified computers and more than S$1,800 ($1,439) cash from the den in a two-storey residential building, reports said.
    Those found guilty of managing an illegal gambling den could be jailed for up to three years, while those convicted of illegal gaming in such dens face up to six months’ imprisonment.
    Authorities across Asia have been stepping up activities against illegal gambling, especially those related to sports betting linked to the FIFA World Cup. The reports didn’t specify what the activities of the gambling ring were.
