Sands China organises responsible gaming team training for third straight year

Sands China Ltd. has organised its annual Responsible Gaming Team Training Programme at The Venetian Macao for the third consecutive year, in an effort to enhance team members’ knowledge of problem gaming and awareness of the importance of responsible gaming. Certificates were presented Thursday and Friday to over 100 participating team members, who came from the gaming operations, security and human resources departments to attend one of three training sessions July 30-31. In honour of their achievements, responsible gaming ambassador walls have been created in the back-of-house areas of Sands China properties.

First launched in 2013, the Responsible Gaming Team Training Programme is a global initiative of parent company Las Vegas Sands Corp. Featuring new and enhanced elements each year, the programme demonstrates Sands China’s ongoing commitment to responsible gaming in Macao, and is part of the company’s effort to support the measures introduced by the Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ). To date, over 290 participants have attended training sessions, and more than 1,160 hours of training have been provided through the annual campaign.  

“Through this training programme, our team members acquire a very important set of skills,” said Cetin Tanisman, senior vice president of casino operations for Sands China Ltd.

“These skills go a long way toward helping minimise the social impact of problem gaming and contribute to the quality of life in Macao. This training programme is also part of the company’s support of the various responsible gaming measures undertaken by DICJ.”
