Rush Gaming sets sights on Osaka, LVS favours Tokyo

Billionaire Neil Bluhm, head of Rush Gaming, has set his sights on bidding for a casino license in Osaka, while Las Vegas Sands CEO Sheldon Adelson sees Tokyo as the main prize, according to a Reuters report. Bluhm says Osaka has the kind of flexible local government that will help drive this project, and, crucially, has “shovel ready” casino sites. He says the process in Tokyo will be more complex, more time-consuming, and more expensive. “Sometimes people like to throw big numbers around in order to get picked … We have been more for Osaka in the $4-$5 billion range,” he told Reuters. While Adelson prefers Tokyo, he hasn’t ruled out pitching for Osaka too, the report said.
