Australian start-up Royal Wins launched Mojikan’s Kash Karnival, a social casino product that it describes as offering hybrid skill and social casino games. Mojikan’s Kash Karnival offers four games which all incorporate elements of skill-based and random number-generated outcomes.
The title was developed after identifying two issues with the social casino sector. Chief executive Robert Fong said that social game players should be rewarded for their skill, and that casino game players are “often served up a mediocre in-game experience”.
“Our new ‘hybrid’ games address both these issues, by rewarding players for their skill, and by bringing new styles of game mechanics and skill-based elements into what, up until now, has only been very basic, uninteresting traditional slots and casino games,” Fong explains.
The games available through Kash Karnival are delivered via Royal Hub. Also available on Facebook the title has already attracted around 10,000 players, with other versions to be rolled out through tablet and mobile channels.
“We see ourselves as a high-end, high quality truly innovative studio, utilizing the very best of breed game engines and gaming technologies, to produce the very best 2D and 3D games of skill and chance,” Royal Wins director of gaming Tony McAuslan added.
The company has recently closed its first funding round, raising AUD$2m. Its team is comprised of veterans of games developers including Aristocrat, IGT, Konami and NextGen Gaming, with offices in Australia and China. It is aiming to launch real-money products by the end of 2014.
