Police detain Vietnamese soccer players for match fixing

    Police in Vietnam have reportedly detained six soccer players on suspicion of trying to fix a domestic league game over the weekend, according to media reports.
    The six Dong Nai players were questioned by police investigators immediately after their 5-3 defeat by Quang Ninh in a top flight V.League match, the report said.
    Authorities across Asia have been cracking down on illegal sports betting, linked to the World Cup recently. In Vietnam, police carried out raids on underground gangs that were handling at least 6.5 trillion dong ($307 million), it said.
