Pacific Online Systems to spend $4.58m on terminals

    Pacific Online Systems plans to spend at least PHP200 million ($4.58 million) this year on more lottery terminals to replace those damaged in the natural disasters, such as typhoon Yolanda, that hit the country last year, local media reported chairman and president Willy N. Ocier as saying on the sidelines of a shareholder meeting. The company plans to add 400-500 terminals by year-end. The company’s net income fell to PHP328 million last year from PHP418.4 million the previous year. The company has previously said that out of the 373 terminals in Eastern Visayas that were damaged by the storm, 186 terminals returned to normal operations. The company had acquired 155 new machines and spare parts to replace and repair damaged terminals. At the end of 2013, the company had 3,873 terminals.
