NZ convicts hotel manager for stealing $35,000 from pokies

Micheal McGurk, a former Auckland hotel manager, has been convicted of stealing more than $35,000 from pokie machines, according to local media. He was accused of stealing the money from the Pacific Sports and Community Trust in 2009.  Gambling Compliance Director Debbie Despard says stealing gaming machine money is actually taking money away from the organizations that support the community.
