Australian-based gambling operator Topbetta has been ordered to pay more than A$15,000 (US$10,850) after it was found guilty of releasing illegal gambling advertisements; local media reports.
Based in Newcastle, Topbetta had reportedly offered gambling inducements by promoting a “No lose Saturday” between Oct. 2014 and May 2015, according to NSW gambling watchdog, Liquor & Gaming NSW.
The gambling operator was found guilty of three counts of breaching the state’s betting and advertising regulations. Any advertisement that induces a person to become a gambler may be in breach of gambling and advertising regulations.
The operator was fined A$4,950 and ordered to pay professional costs of A$11,000.
