A 34-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday night after deliberately crashing into two banks in Melbourne’s CBD before driving into the foyer of the Crown Casino, local media reports.
It is understood that the car deliberately stopped and crashed into two banks on Swanston St, before driving into the basement carpark at Crown Casino and crashing through the glass doors near the base of the escalator.
Police arrested the man in the gaming area when he was attempting to flee on foot, and was taken to hospital for minor injuries.
He has been charged with offences including five counts of criminal damage, conduct endangering life, dangerous driving, possession of a weapon and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
He is also now being assessed by mental health professionals.
