Macau smoking room plans submitted for 39 casinos

Macau’s Health Bureau says it has received final plans for smoking rooms for 39 of the territory’s casinos and slot parlors and urged those outstanding to submit their proposals as soon as possible.Smoking will be banned on casino floors from October 6th and the enclosed smoking rooms will not contain gaming facilities. The VIP rooms won’t be affected by the ban.The Health Bureau says it is easier to control and monitor air quality in the VIP rooms given their relatively contained areas.Although a smoking ban has lead to a large drop off when implemented in casinos in other countries around the world, analysts are less concerned about the impact in Macau.
