Crown Sydney approval process takes step forward with regulator review

The Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority of New South Wales has formally begun an investigation into Crown Resort’s fitness to operate a casino in one of the final steps needed for approval of its new casino resort in Barangaroo, Sydney.

In a notice published in newspapers on Wednesday, the regulator called for public submissions regarding the approval of a restricted gaming licence to Crown. The company won approval to develop the resort from the NSW government late last year. The investigation is expected to be completed in March, shorter than the normal timeframe of about a year.
