Chinese police bust gambling house disguised as poker club

    Police in the Hubei Province have busted a gambling house with over 17 gaming tables and two VIP rooms, disguised as a poker club, local media reports.

    The gambling house, named Wuhan PK365 Club, hosted games of Texas Hold’em Poker and targeted well-educated gamblers. Over 140 gamblers and staff were arrested during the raid.

    According to the provincial public security bureau, the gambling den made 300 million yuan (US$45.5 million) in the first half of 2015 alone.

    The raids reflect an intensified crackdown on illegal gambling in China.

    The case is still under investigation.
