The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Council—which both governs the tribe and manages Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut—voted on November 5 to retain Rodney Butler as its chairman and to serve a fourth consecutive three-year term. He defeated two challengers from the seven-person council.
Butler has served as chairman since 2010, but he also assumed the post of Interim CEO of Foxwoods when the former head of the casino operation, Felix Rappaport, suddenly died in June. Presumably, a long term replacement for Rappaport will eventually be employed.
Foxwoods is mulling an IR bid in Tomakomai, Hokkaido, but still needs to settle its major organizational decisions at home.
In that context, Foxwoods Resort Casino announced this week that industry veteran Anika Howard has become vice-president of brand marketing and digital.
