Chinese authorities brought down 76 illegal entertainment businesses across the country, according to a Ministry of Culture announcement, reported by Xinhua.
The ministry said it is concerned of the use of illegal equipment and gambling activities in some venues.
Some of the venues raided include gaming rooms that have operated without administrative approval or those that allow gambling. Business licenses of any that allow gambling will be revoked, said the ministry.
An official with the ministry said the next step will be to expand inspection nationwide in a bid to standardize the market.
