Asia Pacific gambling to outperform U.S. in 2014, Fitch says

Asia Pacific will outpace the U.S. next year, with gross gaming revenue in Macau forecast to rise by 12 percent, Fitch Ratings says. Singapore, Australia and Malaysia are likely to see more modest growth in the 3-5 percent range, while the U.S. is likely to remain “tepid,” it says.

The ratings agency says it expects gaming operators in Macau, Singapore, Australia and Malaysia to maintain their credit profiles next year, helped by strong free cash flow. Meanwhile, competition in Asia will continue to intensify, with the potential opening up of the Japanese market likely to be the most anticipated event next year, it said.
